US state privacy law — California’s CCPA/CPRA and its counterparts elsewhere — gives you a right to opt out of the ‘sale’ or ‘sharing’ of your personal information for advertising. What follows is how that operates on budgetrove.com.
Background
There is no monetary sale of personal information by Budgetrove. The practice that engages this right is narrower — where ads are served, advertising and cookie identifiers may be shared with ad partners. Given how broadly the statutes define ‘sale’ and ‘share’, we assume it counts and provide the opt-out.
It applies across the whole of budgetrove.com and to every reader of our coverage of Budgetrove.
After You Opt Out
Once opted out, we stop sharing advertising identifiers with ad partners. Advertising itself may continue in generic form. There is no penalty of any kind: the site is not degraded, restricted, or priced differently for readers who opt out.
How to Tell Us
Three ways. Turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser — we honour it automatically, and nothing further is required. Or use the consent banner, where presented, to refuse advertising cookies. Or write to hello@budgetrove.com with the subject ‘Do Not Sell or Share’. You do not need an account with us to do any of this.
The full list of applicable state rights lives in the State Privacy Notice.
